Strip Foundations

Strip foundations are one of the most commonly used foundation types in the UK, formed by continuous concrete strips beneath load-bearing walls. They are typically used on residential and low-rise developments where ground conditions are stable and suitable for shallow foundations.

Trench Fill Foundations

Trench fill foundations are a modern alternative to traditional strip foundations and are widely used on housing developments. The trench is filled almost entirely with concrete, allowing for faster installation, improved ground stability and reduced below-ground blockwork.

Pad Foundations

Pad foundations are isolated concrete bases designed to support individual columns or point loads. They are commonly used on commercial and industrial projects, including steel-framed buildings and structural columns.

Raft Foundations

Raft foundations consist of a large reinforced concrete slab that spreads the load of the building evenly across the entire footprint. This type of foundation is ideal for sites with poor ground conditions or where there is a risk of differential settlement.

Piled Foundations

Piled foundations are used where shallow foundations are not suitable due to weak or unstable ground. Loads are transferred to deeper, load-bearing strata using driven, bored or CFA piles, making this solution ideal for challenging ground conditions and heavier structures.

We construct a full range of foundation systems for both residential and commercial developments, delivering safe, compliant and long-lasting solutions tailored to each site. Our experienced groundworks team selects the most appropriate foundation type based on ground conditions, structural loads and design requirements where not specified.

For residential projects, we commonly install strip foundations, trench fill foundations and raft foundations, providing reliable support for houses and low-rise buildings. On sites with poor or variable ground conditions, we deliver piled foundations and pile and beam foundations to transfer loads to stable strata.

For commercial and industrial developments, we also construct pad foundations and reinforced concrete slab foundations to support steel frames, columns and heavier structural loads.
